Just a few decades before George W. Vanderbilt was born, Charles Grey, second Earl Grey, British Prime Minister in the 1830s, received a gift of tea flavored with bergamot oil. That tea eventually became known as Earl Grey tea. Biltmore® Earl Grey Tea, specially blended for Biltmore, is a rich blend of black teas and bergamot citrus.
